My contributions to FVR-90 includes:
Designed mounting & heat dissipation system for the drone's radio – enabling full power operation in both 140°F+ static air environments and in flight, optimized through CFD & FEA. Performed thermal validation with computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations in parallel with finite element analysis (FEA) thermal conduction simulations.
Designed an RF transparent NACA airfoil antenna cover, optimized drag through CFD simulation and RF performance through anechoic chamber testing with the RF engineering team.
Designed the Ground Antenna Station to interface between the ground control station and the radio communicating with the bird, with active convective cooling.
