In this project, I installed a solar panel array and all additional infrastructure the solar panels needed: mounting rails, inverters, cables + cable protection, safety switch, inverter combiner, and a solar breaker.
The first step was installing the panel's flashing mounts & L-feet and properly weatherproofing, to ensure no moisture intrusion through the roof.
The second step was installing the panel's mounting rails, micro-inverters, and roof junction box.
After installing the micro-inverters, the cabling followed. Cables were run from the micro inverters through the roof junction box, attic, out the side of the housing unit through another junction box, then to the micro-inverter combiner & safety switch through outdoor cable conduit.
Finally, the Solar Panels go up!
Before the Panels can be turned on, the connection to the fuse box is made from the safety switch. Then, all the proper safety labels go up.
After a city inspection, the panels are turned on.
The solar panels continue to be in use today with no maintenance needed.
